How It All Began

It started with a simple thought.

One day, while jamming to an underrated artist on Spotify, I had that gut feeling—the one where you just know someone is about to blow up.

“This artist is going to make it big. But why is there no way for me to benefit from spotting their potential early?”

The Problem with Investing in Artists

In the business world, people invest in companies and share in their profits. But with artists? That’s tricky.

Unless an artist is desperate for funding, they have little reason to give up a portion of their future earnings. It just doesn’t make sense.

So, I asked myself:

• How can I support an artist’s journey without them having to give up a piece of their success?
• How can fans be rewarded for their ability to recognize talent early?

A Lightbulb Moment: Inspired by Sports Betting

Around the same time, my friends were deep into sports betting—debating which player would score the most goals, analyzing stats, and making predictions.

Then it hit me. Music and content creation have numbers, too.

• Spotify streams.
• YouTube views.
• Twitch streams.
• Follower counts.

What if instead of betting on sports, fans could predict which artists would skyrocket next?

FameForecast: The Birth of a New Concept

At first, I thought—"Is this investing?" But it wasn’t. Investing means owning a piece of something, and artists aren’t stocks. Their talent, hard work, and success belong to them.

Then I wondered—"Is this betting?" But it wasn’t that either. Betting is based on luck, while this was about insight, data, and intuition.

This wasn’t about buying into an artist’s success or gambling on chance.

Then I took a step back. If we invest in a stock, we’re forecasting that its price will rise. If we bet on a team, we’re forecasting that they’ll win.

And that’s when it clicked—what we’re doing is forecasting who will become the next big name.

That’s how FameForecast was born.
